Reclaim The Streets We got invited to contribute with visuals to Reclaim the Streets 2004 in Copenhagen, and decided quickly on merging it with our own carnival against capitalism. Dressed up as pirates we set out on creating our own pirate utopia in the streets and let party and the protest come together in the shaping of a temporary autonomous zone. If you can't dance to the revolution, it is not our revolution. After some preliminary conflicts with the police, who apparently still see pirates as public enemy no. 1, we succeeded in making it to the demo and sported a skullbanner alongside the red and black colors of other reclaimers. To the event we made several stickers and had our own pirate cannon to unleash them upon fellow reclaimers with. |
