Dome Dome was a project undertaken to house a ‘chill out’ area catered by the drugs awareness group ‘Bagmændene’ at the Roskilde Festival 04. The dome structure was inspired by Buckminster Fuller, referencing sustainability and efficiency. The dome was also an extremely cost efficient structure compared to its size, relatively easy to assemble and mobile (if disassembled on to a small truck). This project created an opportunity for us to use the structure as an alternative house of culture in the future, planting it where we saw fit. Sadly the dome was never built due to communication difficulties between the festival, Bagmændene and floorless. But it is fully certified by architects and engineers, so if anyone has a mere $10.000 for the construction of a new artistic utopia with room for innumerable practices and experiences, give us a shout, we’re always open. |
